I was at a point in my career where I needed to invest in myself as a leader. I was starting to face more complicated challenges at work where I needed to influence larger and more disparate organizations with differing goals. I had been having significant difficulty with a colleague, and I had given them a lot of feedback that didn’t seem to be landing. While I knew deep down that I had to change my approach, I found it very challenging. Madeline’s framework helped me crystallize that the only way out of the situation was to break the mistrust cycle and change the way I was communicating.
The most significant transformation/growth from coaching the past few months is feeling less self-doubt. I’m far more confident and assured than I was before I started. This has been super helpful as I interview for positions and decide where I want my career to change. I’ve learned to ask myself what I value in my career and make better decisions.
Madeline’s program got me to realize that I needed to take charge of my situation and directly ask for things that I wanted. One thing in particular that I wanted was to be pulled back in to leadership conversations. Because of the growth that I experienced working with Madeline’s program, I felt confident being direct and persistent in my ask, and I got it! In the months that followed, I gradually accrued more clout and opportunities to make impact. Just last week I was asked to step back into a management role.
